York International School cancels classes after garbage truck hits overhead power lines

Denver (KDVR) – A Thornton School in Mapleton Public County will be closed on Thursday after the garbage truck hit upper power generation and hit power to York International School.

The lines, located on York Street and 93 Street, were struck around the time of the semester on Wednesday and removed pieces of nearby electrical equipment. Provincial officials said they hoped to resolve the power outage on Wednesday evening, but this was not.

The officials canceled the classroom only for the York International School due to the power outages and exchanged the following message with parents and the school’s guardians.

After more examination, Xcel Energy discovered that the damage caused by the drop -off power lines was more comprehensive than it was originally believed. Unfortunately, this means that the crews will not be able to restore power in time to school tomorrow.
