Denver (KDVR)-amid temperatures close to the registry and heat consulting all over Colorado, Xcel Energy requires customers to reduce the use of electricity to process high demand on the system.
In a press release from customers, the company requested that energy be maintained from 3 pm to 10 pm on Thursday by making some changes on their regular habits. The specified weather team expects that standard temperatures will be possible in Denver on Thursday, and the heat consultations are located all over the state.
The company said that customers can reduce the risk of “controlled power outage”, and some ways to maintain energy on Thursday:
- Smartly put on 78 degrees or higher
- Extinguishing unnecessary lights
- The postponement of the use of the main devices
“The company requires customers to take these steps to maintain energy to reduce the demand for the electrical network and reduce tension on the system,” XCEL said in the press statement. “These conservative efforts can reduce the risk of the most important procedures, which can include control and dizziness.”
XCEL said if the power outage becomes necessary, although it did not clarify when or if it would need, the energy will be stopped in the rotating areas to maintain the largest network to avoid the longest interruption.
The power outages should last for up to an hour, and customers should report only the interruption that lasts longer than 90 minutes.
XCEL said: “Use facilities for power outages as a last resort, and Xcel Energy is estimated and understood that they work through this event,” XCEL said.
