Williamson Province, Texas (KXAN) – Williamson County Commissioners discussed new developments for the new justice complex planning on Tuesday.
The location of the justice complex has not been located, but the Project Management Company that was rented by the province – Kitchell/CEM, INC. – I specified 10 potential sites in Williamson Province to build.
“In justice, we are still doing it personally,” said Sean Dick, the lawyer for Williamson Province. “The less the space we have, the less the work we can accomplish, the slower the system.”
Dick has been working as a lawyer for the region since 2017, and he said that the current facilities have long been late.
“If you are walking up and falling in the court during the day, you will see lawyers trying to meet their customers or their families in particular, and everyone in the courtroom, like you at the bus station, will see.” “This is not a favorite for lawyers to be able to negotiate and communicate with their customers, then come and communicate with the state.”
The director of the program, Rebecca Cleimmons, said that the province currently includes between 700 to 725 prisoners per day, with a maximum capacity of 900 prisoners. Cleimmons also said that employees in other parts of the judicial system have been mixed around different facilities to provide more space.
“Given our population and rapid growth throughout the province, we will be out of space very quickly,” said Cleimmons. “It is financially responsible to move forward and plan something that can be allowed to build the maximum degrees one day.”
Cleimmons added that hope is for the new justice complex to be about five years.
Valery Kofi, who is the Williamson County Commissioner for Follow -up 3, chanted this feeling, focusing on building a new justice complex.
“Williamson’s boycott continues to grow, but it has grown at a very fast, greater and faster than we expected,” said Kofi. “Building a new justice complex will accommodate not only the current problems that we have – and help to meet the needs of space – but also the future growth we expect.”
To address the short -term space issues, Commissioners agreed to buy and re -adjust the building near the current justice center last week to house some employees. In the spring of 2026, the building of the new Williamson County Director will open, which will lead to the liberation of the area in the current building in the center of Georgetown.
