The New York Jets are wrapping up another lost season, unfortunately, which has become commonplace due to their many organizational struggles. With a record of 3-10, they have nothing to play for except pride over the final month of the season.
However, some players want to finish the season strong, as it could earn them a big payday this offseason. One of those players is running back Breece Hall, a pending free agent who is having a solid season.
Although he is battling an injury, Hall is hopeful to play Sunday against the Jaguars.
Breece Hall Limited in Practice on Thursday
Hall is having the best season of his four-year NFL career. He is on pace for his first 1,000-yard rushing season and already has locked in his third straight season with over 1,100 yards from scrimmage. Hall is currently battling a knee injury, but it is a good sign that he was able to practice in some capacity on Thursday.
According to Zack Rosenblatt, Hall was limited in practice on Thursday and was seen going through positional drills after missing practice on Wednesday. Hall is still only 24 years old and has a chance for a nice payday this offseason.
Therefore, it would not be wise for him to return to the Jets, as he can find many teams that will utilize him better. While he will not be the highest-paid running back, he could find himself in the top 10 highest-paid players at his position.
Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor didn’t practice again today.
Safe bet that it’ll be Brady Cook on Sunday.
Breece Hall was limited.
Mason Taylor (neck) and AZ Thomas (shoulder) didn’t practice for the second straight day.

Hall has been quite impactful this season, according to PFSN. He is 12th in the NFL in RB Impact Score with an 80.8. There is no guarantee that Hall will play on Sunday, but it is safe to say things are pointing in the right direction for the veteran.
Jets Headed for Long Rebuild
The Jets need a total roster overhaul this offseason, which is one reason Hall will likely head elsewhere. The Jets should not want to use any cap space on a running back, as they have much larger needs.
First and foremost, they need to find a franchise quarterback, and they will likely look to do that in the draft.
The Jets have been unable to find any stability in recent years because they have not had a decent signal-caller. The Jets have multiple first-round draft picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts, and while there have been dark times in New York, there is at least some hope they can turn things around.
