Robin Roberts is saying good morning to a new adventure.
The Good Morning America host addressed her recent absence from the ABC show, revealing that she temporarily left her co-anchor duties to embark on a trip to Africa with her wife Amber Laign and former NBA player Masai Ujiri in collaboration with nonprofit organization Giants of Africa.
“We’re in #Rwanda as guests of @inmuwetrust_ & @giantsofafrica celebrating young basketball players across Africa,” Robin explained in a July 27 Instagram post. “Every last Saturday in the month in Rwanda is a national day of service.”
Plus, the trip wound up serving another purpose as well: ringing in their anniversary. As Robin—who tied the knot with Amber in 2023 following 18 years of dating—noted, “Wonderful way for the two of us to celebrate 20 years as a couple.”
She added, “It certainly has been an adventure!”
And that wasn’t the only glimpse Robin gave into her international getaway. Alongside her message, the 64-year-old also shared a sweet photo of her and Amber, 50, posing in matching green shirts while doing volunteer work during their Rwanda stay.
