The governor of the state, Gavin News, supports a suggestion in the poll that would give California legislators the power to redraw regions in Congress in the next three elections if the Republicans -led states agree on new maps that enhance the control of the Republican Party in the US House of Representatives.

California voters established the committee through polling measures in 2008 and 2010 to remove the political impact from the operation, which is usually done once every 10 years using American census data.

Under the plan, the committee will remain in the law, but it is losing power if another country is in the middle of the contract. In this case, the maps that the legislators draw will be used if the voters agree to this measure.
The committee will resume its duties after 2030.
Supporters argue that the proposal aims to confront partisan fashion in the states led by the Republican Party. However, opponents argue that the plan is in itself a form of ventilation, as the authority turned into politicians after voters intentionally took it.
The proposal also calls for special elections on November 4, so that voters can make a decision on the procedure. It includes provisions for the payment of provinces for election costs.
A new policy poll/Sirin Center indicates that the idea may face resistance.
The survey of 1,445 registered voters, which was conducted on July 28 to August 12, found that 64 % wanted to maintain the independent committee, compared to 36 % who support the granting of temporary authority to the legislators. The committee attracted the support of the majority through political and demographic lines, including 72 % of Democrats, 66 % of Republicans, and 61 % of independents.
