Actor Samuel French has died at 45. According to filmmaker Paul Sinacore, French passed away Friday in a Waco, Texas, hospital after a years-long struggle with cancer.
A native of Waco, French spent most of his early years in Clifton before eventually pursuing acting in Austin and Dallas. His screen career included roles in the History Channel miniseries Texas Rising, AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, and Joe Haladin: The Case of the Missing Sister (2023). His acting credits also include Pegasus: Pony With a Broken Wing, The Pro Bono Watchman, and Blood Dried Hands.
French gained immense recognition for playing CJ Robinson, an undercover FBI agent. Robinson investigates the Osage murders in Martin Scorsese’s Killer of the Flower Moon. His final appearance will be in Towpath. This is a historical drama written and directed by Sinacore, where he plays Detective Bernard Crooke.
