(Crohn) – The bird and mosquitoes have proven positive to the West Nile virus in Solano County this month.
The mosquito reduction area in Solano Province was discovered for the first time the Western Nile virus in a bird found near the Judyer Road in Bensia on August 15. The bird was the first to test the virus in Solano County in 2025.
On August 18, the mosquito reduction area in Solano Province confirmed the presence of West Nile virus in the mosquitoes in the Judyer area. The city of Benissia warns the population against taking the necessary precautions to avoid contracting with the virus.
“The residents are advised to take preventive measures to reduce the risk of mosquitoes and protect public health by examining their property in permanent waters,” the city of Benissia stated on social media on Friday. “[The Solano County Mosquito Abatement District] Residents urge to be proactive against mosquitoes by wearing a registered mosquito repellent from the Deet Environmental Protection Agency, Picaridim, eucalyptus lemon oil, or IT3535. “
Officials are working to reduce the number of mosquitoes in the region. The mosquito reduction area in Solano Province continues to monitor mosquitoes near Judyer Road.
“If it suffers from a West Nile virus, most people do not show any symptoms,” said the city of Nisia. “Some may suffer [like] Diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer [and] Renal disease. “
Western Creek, VACAVILLE, Suisun City and San Ramon have been discovered this summer.
Officials recommend the following advice to prevent the spread of West Nile virus:
- Check the permanent water
- Draining permanent water
- Empty
- Regular cleaning, wash bird baths and pets weekly
- Fix the leakage tap and broken machine guns
- Avoid excessive water
- Ensure that window screens and doors are intact, and they have no holes, and they fit well
- Keep swimming pools at the appropriate water levels for the blood circulation and nomination
