Aurora, Colorado (KDVR) – after a year of apartments that are closed after neglect, violence and crime, such as what was seen in the apartments on Dallas Street, the city of Ura is looking for change.
“When real estate owners are not responsible. You have an element that moves, takes responsibility, there are opportunities for crime, and there are opportunities to harm, and all kinds of bad things happen, and this is not what we want,” said a member of the Aurora City Council at Ward 4 Stephanie Hancock.
A new decree accredited by the city council at Monday night meeting holds the landowners accountable by ensuring their work with the city to ensure that their property reaches the city symbol.
“We are committed to safety. We want to make sure that all our gardens, all our neighborhoods, streets, and work are safe for our Urra citizens to enjoy,” Hancock said.
According to the symbol in AuroraThe real estate owner must take steps to fix the inconvenience on their property or may face a summons.
Hancock says the city is already looking for multiple properties within the city, as this new decree is launched.
“At the end of the day, the city is not a land owner. The city does not want to be the landowner. The city wants all our actions and our citizens to be responsible.”
