Was ‘Poppa’s House’ Canceled?
Poppa’s House was canceled by CBS after one season on the network. There will not be a season 2 of the sitcom. It was among the list of several shows that were axed, including The Summit, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.
When Was the ‘Poppa’s House’ Season 1 Finale?
The show, which starred Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr., debuted in October 2024. The final episode of Poppa’s House season 1 aired in April 2025.

“A very special thank you to my son, Damon Jr. working beside you has been one of the greatest joys of my life,” he said. “And to my incredible family, siblings, children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who showed up as writers, guest stars, and creative forces you made this journey even more meaningful. It’s such a blessing to have so much love on one set and to be able to create and laugh with family and friends. Though Poppa’s House is coming to a close, I’m walking away with deep gratitude, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable memories. This show gave me more than I could’ve ever imagined. Fans Were Upset That ‘Poppa’s House’ Was Canceled
Once the news was confirmed that the show would not be moving forward with a season 2 at CBS, many viewers expressed their outrage online.
“Please go to another network!! I love this show,” one person begged in a comment left on the show’s official Instagram account.
“WHY WOULDNT YOU RENEW THIS GREATNESS?” another person asked.
“I love this show! I hope another network picks it up,” someone else said.
“I can’t believe that they cancelled this show. It’s my favorite. This BS! Take it to another Network. I watched this Faithfully every week. So disappointing this show made me laugh all the time,” a fourth person pointed out.
“This show was great!! Why is it being canceled?? I’m so sad. I literally look forward to every new episode. And they just got Damon Jr’s daughter to okay his sister. I was soooo excited about it. CBS needs to reconsider!” said another person.
“I will deeply miss this show. I’m so grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to join and be involved in the live audience taping for the first few episodes,” another reflected. “It felt great to see Damon and Damon Jr’s dynamic burst out of my television screen. It was also great to be involved the same atmosphere as Mr. Damon Jr after being in the ‘Cherry’ movie with him. I grew attached to this show.
