Wag Hotels reaches $150K settlement in consumer protection lawsuit

SANA Francisco (Kron) – Wag Hotels agreed to pay $ 150,000 to settle a consumer protection suit that involves safety and hygiene fears in its facilities in three provinces in the Gulf region.

The lawsuit, filed by the provincial lawyer in the provinces of San Francisco, Santa Clara and San Matteo, followed a report issued on San Francisco Cronic’s cases that highlight issues such as neglect, hygiene, domination of pests, and failure to report dog bites at Wag hotel sites.

“We want to make sure that this is a clear example of the legal standards and make sure that we protect our pets by enforcing the laws,” said San Francisco Province’s lawyer, Brock Jenkins.

Provincial lawyer Jenkins stressed the importance of hygiene in pets, noting that bacteria may cause diseases and infections.

As part of the settlement, Wag hotels will pay $ 75,000 of civil sanctions and $ 75,000 in investigation costs.

The settlement also includes conditions for Wag Hotels to improve animal safety, train employees and supervise dogs in playing groups.

Wag Hotels presented the following statement to Kron4:

We have reached a mutual settlement with these agencies, in which WAG does not recognize any violations of the isolated accidents that occurred several years ago, which are exceptions to hundreds of thousands of visits to our facilities throughout our 20 -year -old history and have been addressed by our practices. We are pleased to reach a positive solution that completely reflects the commitment of government entities and Wag Hotels to provide a high level of pets for pets and the people we serve.

We appreciate cooperation and professionalism by the provincial lawyer and public prosecutor offices in the city of San Francisco throughout the operation. It will allow us to solve the issue in this way to avoid the cost of litigation and distraction so that we can continue to focus on care, safety and exceptional service that we know. Wag Hotels sponsorship providers are excited to supply our Feroic guests and their parents with love care that made us reliable choice with their needs for daytime sponsorship of pets and boots.

Da Jenkins said the settlement would allow better supervision.

“Whether it is to create an animal welfare department, the requirements that video monitoring footage keeps inside pet hotels, and they keep data about the number of dog bites accidents and other things that occur in their facilities so that we can again scrutinize later on the occurrence of additional changes in its facilities,” Jenkins said.
