Violent Southern California suspect had ankle monitor on amid burglary

Officials announced that a 40 -year -old man in Vinterora Province faces lifelong imprisonment for a residential robbery, while he was committing ankle control.

Matthew Rey Scott was condemned for a first -class residential theft in 2007 and 2015 and had a conditional release when he was arrested for additional robbery in late last year, according to a press statement issued by the Vinterora County Office of the lawyer.

In December 2024, Scott entered the house of Wadi Simi where one of the residents, who came across the phone at the time, who was 40 years old standing in the hallway leading to her bedroom.

Scott escaped from the house without taking any property after the woman faced him, and asked what he was doing there while the person who was on the phone was called the police.

“The victim witnessed that she believed that Scott followed her home, through the door of the open garage,” said the prosecutors.

Just two blocs, the 40 -year -old entered a second stay across the garage where a young family was at home.

Home surveillance cameras acquired the garage and the backyard.

“Simi Valley police officers searched the area and eventually found Scott about three streets,” the release was detailed. “The ankle monitoring was the conditional release.”

On March 26, a jury found that the formerly convicted criminal was guilty of two first -class residential accusations, and the resistance to arrest and evasion of peace officers. The jury also found that Scott committed a violent felony by entering the houses where the residents were present.

“We offer our sincere appreciation to the witnesses who made his testimony – not only in this case, but also in the previous three incidents dating back to 2007,” said Da Craig Gardner, Senior Deputy Da Craig Gardner, who tried the case. “Their courage and willingness to participate was vital to securing justice and enhancing the safety of our society.”

The conviction of the third Scott’s felony means that he may face a life prison sentence in prison.

It is not known when the speech session will be scheduled.
