Ventura man arrested after threatening to kill officers at his home: police

Ventura man was arrested early Friday after he threatened to kill police officers who were at home to help one of the former residents capture her property.

Bernard Lugman, 55, was arrested at around 2:35 am, after a match for an hour and an accident that started last week.

Last Saturday, the Ventura Police Administration responded to his home in the 300th building of Catalina Street, “to preserve peace” while the previous tenant collected its things from the inside.

While the officers were at the scene, it was claimed that Lugman went out and started screaming at them, and threatened to “detonate their skulls” before returning to his home.

The threat led to the withdrawal of the police and ensuring that the former resident was safe and launched an investigation into previous allegations against Lujman.

Police learned that the same previous resident tried to accommodate her property in December, but was claimed that he was attacked by Lujman, who said she struck her with a gun and caused serious injuries.

Because of the claim of previous behavior and belief that Loughman managed to reach firearms, the Ventura Police Administration issued an arrest of Loughman, the activation of the Swat team and requested help from its counterparts in the Oxenard Police Station.

Around 8:50 pm Thursday evening, the presence of the large police served an inspection note at home.

Four passengers of the house came out immediately, but they told the authorities that Lugman refused to leave, confirming that he was also able to reach the weapons.

This was followed by a confrontation for several hours, and Lugman refused to surrender late in the evening until Friday morning.

At approximately 2:30 am, Swat armed officers entered the house and found him inside a closed bathroom. Once again, he refused to surrender, the officials said.

Finally, the officers violated the bathroom and were able to take him to reserve without reporting any injuries.

He was booked in Ventura County Prison to wait for accusations to resist arrest, battery and criminal threats, and they are last two crimes.

The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information is urged to call 805-650-8010.
