Austin (KXAN) ranked a new report at the University of Texas in Austin as the best public university in Texas and the seventh among public universities at the national level. The World Report ranked 32 university program 1 in the state, where 24 ranked first at the national level.
Six of these programs, three each in business and engineering schools, ranked first at the national level:
- Accounting, MakoMbs Business School: No. 2
- Marketing, MakoMbs Business School: No. 3
- Finance, Makomb Business School: No. 5
- Petroleum Engineering, Cokrill School of Engineering: No. 2
- Chemical Engineering, Cokrill School of Engineering: No. 5
- Civil Engineering, Kokrill School of Engineering: No. 5

Programs are classified based on graduation and retaining rates, semester resources available for students and the number of graduates who entered the workforce with competitive salaries and administrative debts, according to World Report site.
