Colorado Springs, Colorado (AFP) – The Olympic Committee and the handicapped in the United States have already prevented sexually transmitted women from competing in women’s sports, informing unions that oversee swimming, athletics and other sports, and have a “commitment to compliance” for an executive order issued by President Donald Trump.
The new policy, which was announced on Monday, a quiet change on the USOPC website and confirmed in a letter that was sent to the national sporting bodies, followed a similar step taken by NCAA earlier this year.
Usopc is noticed indirectly as details in light of the “USPC safety policy” and the references of Trump’s executive, “keeping men outside women’s sports”, signed in February. This, among other things, threatens to “cancel all money” from organizations that allow the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports.
American Olympic officials told national ruling bodies that they would need this, adding that “USOPC has participated in a series of respected and constructive talks with federal officials” since Trump signed the matter.
“As a federal rented organization, we are committed to compliance with federal expectations,” said Sarah Herland, CEO of USOPC. “Our revised policy emphasizes the importance of ensuring fair and safe competition environments for women. All national ruling bodies are required to update their policies in effect.”
The National Center for Women’s Law made a statement condemning this step.
“By surrendering to political demands, USOPC sacrifices the needs and safety of its athletes,” said the organization’s president and executive director, Fatima Gos Graves.
Usopc oversees about 50 national ruling body, most of which play a role in everything from popular bases to elite levels of their sports. This raises the possibility of changing the rules in local sports clubs to keep their members in NGBS.
Some of these organizations – for example, the path and the field in the United States of America – have long followed guidelines defined by their global federation. World Athletics is studying the changes that occur in its policies that will match Trump.
A spokesman for the United States of America swimming said that the Union had been briefed on the change of USOPC and was consulting with the committee to find out the changes it needs. The policy of the United States of America has changed its policy from August 1 to allow only “athletes who have female sex” in the competition of women and open the events of men to “all unqualified athletes to obtain the women’s category, including sexually transformed women, transgender men, non -bilateral athletes, gender athletes and athletes in CISGERERER.”
The battle at the level of the country has played on the sexual transformed girls in the sports teams of girls and women on both levels of the state and the federal, where Republicans depict the issue as a battle for sports fairness. More than twenty countries have enacted laws that prevent sexually transformed women and girls from participating in some sports competitions. Some policies in the court were banned after critics have challenged policies as discriminatory and harsh and unnecessarily targeted a small position of athletes.
NCAA has changed its participation policy for transgender athletes to reduce competition in women’s sports for athletes who cost a female at birth. This change came a day after Trump signed the executive order, which aims to ban sexually transformed athletes of girls and women.
Female eligibility is a major issue of the International Olympic Committee under its new president, Kirsty Coventry, who indicated the “female protection” effort. The International Olympic Committee for Individual Sports Federations allowed the assignment of its own rules in the Olympic Games – some have already taken steps on this topic.
More tougher rules were passed on the transgender athletes – with the exception of women’s events that passed by males – by swimming, cycling, path and field. Football reviews the rules of eligibility for women and can set boundaries on the testosterone.
Trump said he wanted the International Olympic Committee to change everything “with this very funny topic.” Los Angeles will host summer games in 2028.
