US bars Iran’s diplomats from shopping at Costco without permission

New York — The Trump administration has prevented Iranian diplomats in New York or visited them from shopping in the sentence clubs such as Costco and buying luxury goods in the United States without a specific permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We will not allow the Iranian regime to allow the Bible elites to have a shopping boom in New York, while the Iranian people bear poverty, the dilapidated infrastructure, and a shortage of water in water and electricity,” the ministry said in a statement.

In the notifications that will be published this week in the federal registry, the Ministry of Foreign Tasks of the Ministry decided that diplomatic membership in the sentence club stores as well as the ability of diplomats to buy things such as watches, fur, jewelry, handbags, governors, perfumes, tobacco, alcohol and cars “requires” the approval of the US government.

However, the only country that specifically targeted diplomats is Iran. Costco stores were a favorite of Iranian diplomats who were published in New York and their visit because they were able to buy large quantities of products that are not available in their economically isolated country to get relatively cheap prices and send them home.

“By preventing Iranian regime officials from exploiting diplomatic travel to the United Nations as a way to obtain goods not available to the Iranian public, we send a clear message: When the United States says it is standing with the people of Iran, we mean that.”

This step is another step in the Trump administration campaign against visas, including leaders and diplomats who seek to act as representatives of the United Nations. While world leaders meet this week for the prominent annual meeting of the International Authority, the new American restrictions apply permanently to any Iranian diplomats representing their country at the United Nations throughout the year.

The decisions, which were published online on Monday and printed on Tuesday, said that Iranian diplomats and their exalted “must” obtain approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before: obtaining membership or keeping it in another way in any wholesale club store in the United States, to include, but not limited to, Costco Club, or wholesale BJ’s club, and gaining elements from such changes in the club. “

In addition, Iranian diplomats in the United States must also obtain permission to purchase luxury goods worth more than $ 1,000 and compounds valued at more than $ 60,000, said Seagroves, head of the foreign missions office.

The elements that are defined as “luxurious goods” include watches, leather clothes, clothing accessories, silk clothes, clothing accessories, shoes, fur leather, artificial fur, handbags, wallets, fountain pens, cosmetics, perfumes, toilet water, artworks, antiques, scent, winning, appearance, and focus. Precious metals, electronics, equipment, entertainment sports articles, musical instruments, cigarettes, cigars, wine, spirits and beer.

Earlier this month, US officials said they were thinking about the restrictions signed by Seagroves on September 16 and 18.

The Trump administration has already denied visas for Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and his great delegation to attend the United Nations General Assembly. In addition to Iran, the administration was also considering imposing restrictions on delegations from Sudan, Zimbabwe and Brazil.
