Upland police arrest suspected drunk driver after crash involving three cars

Highland police arrested a man early Sunday morning after he crashed into several parked cars and rolled his car before trying to drive away from the scene, authorities said.

The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Arrow Highway near Campus Avenue, according to the Upland Police Department in mail on the X. Officers said the suspected drunk driver struck three parked cars before his car overturned.

Despite the accident, police said the driver “had the audacity to move away from the scene.” Officers later found him nearby and arrested him on suspicion of drink driving.

Authorities reminded the public to plan ahead and avoid getting behind the wheel while intoxicated. “Do not put your safety or the safety of others at risk,” police wrote. “If you drink, buy yourself an Uber.”
