SANA Francisco (KON) – A flight on United Airlines heading to San Francisco International Airport from China was thwarted on Monday after losing in one of its engines. According to the reports, the engine was burned while taking off.
The journey, UA889, took off at Beijing International Airport when the passengers suffered from a “high commotion”, according to a report in Global times. The airline representative of Kron4 confirmed that the plane, Boeing 777, witnessed a mechanical failure during takeoff.
“The plane stopped and the passengers were exhausted to the bus on the runway,” said airline spokesman.
Global Times cited the passenger account on the Chinese social media platform, which I read, “Family and Friends, we started smelling something burning inside the plane. Just moments ago, the United Airlines flight that I was 889 witnessed that she was flying from Beijing to San Fain, and faced Fair Truck at a later time.
According to what was reported, the firefighters responded quickly and took out the fire. There were no injuries, according to United Airlines.
United arranged for free hotel accommodations for passengers. There were 229 passengers on the plane and an unknown number of crew when the accident occurred.
An alternative trip has also been arranged and has been left since then. Flightaware confirms on the flight tracking website that Monday’s flight has been canceled.
