Union reaches tentative agreement with King Soopers

KDVR – King Soopers reached an initial agreement with the union, which represents grocery workers in Colorado after months of back and forth.

UFCW local 7 I mentionedOn Thursday, they reached a 3 -year agreement with the company to obtain a new contract, which includes:

  • Improvements on the advantages of health care for employees
  • An increase in wages to the highest prices, serious employees and department managers
  • It allows job protection and employee opportunities from “disturbing companies like Instacart”

Fox31 received a statement from King Soopers:

“We are happy that we have reached a fully recommended initial agreement with UFCW Local 7. This offer allows us to put more money in our partners checks and keep health care at reasonable prices; while also securing their pensioners and we are excited to vote on it.”

This comes after the union strike for a period of 12 days in February, which led to a 100 -day agreement with Kroger, the company that owns the King Soopers.

UFCW Local 7 said they are currently working on securing dates and sites for meetings for union workers to vote on a 3 -year agreement.
