Frey’s endorsement comes at a pivotal time for the Tar Heels, who are set to compete in the 2025 NCAA Championship from May 15–18 at Baylor’s Hurd Tennis Center. With a rich history that includes a national championship win in 2023 and a runner-up finish in 2014, UNC enters the tournament with high expectations. The Tar Heels are scheduled to take on LSU’s women’s tennis team in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 15.
Known both for her rising tennis credentials and massive social media following, Frey is no stranger to the spotlight. In August 2024, she made her WTA Tour qualifying debut at the Cleveland-based Tennis in the Land tournament, where she upset World No. 108 Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets.
That same year, she reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 802. Off the court, her uncanny resemblance to NFL quarterback Brock Purdy sparked viral fame in late 2023. As of May 2025, Frey has amassed over 2 million followers on TikTok and 800,000 on Instagram, earning NIL deals with brands like FILA, HEAD USA, and Nerds.
Ahead of the NCAA championship action, Frey used her Instagram platform to rally support for the Tar Heels. In a short video posted to her feed, she appeared wearing UNC-branded gear and captioned the clip with a heartfelt message:
“Goodluck in Waco!”
