'Unbelievable': Wind uproots trees, knocks out power in Centennial neighborhood

Centennial, COLO. (KDVR) – Once you turn to Spruce Street in Centennial, you can see it: huge trees uprooted and tended to homes and power lines.

Meanwhile, the neighbors met with the leaflets to help break some of these heavy branches.

“We were only at home, and suddenly we got these intense and heavy winds. In the middle of it there was pop music,” said Ed Fest, who lives in the neighborhood.

This pop was the giant trees that had been standing for decades. Only one example of the damage caused by the angry winds was wandering on the southern metro.

“I saw such a wind except with a hurricane. But it lasted less than five minutes. But when that was done, we saw all the damage behind us with our neighbors,” said Judy Brown, who lives nearby.

This damage is torn by the roots across the ground and the weight of energy lines, which expels the power of the surrounding blocks.

“From our backyard, you can see the neighbor to the south of us and there was a tree that is lying on the PowerLine line and both poles are determined inside,” Vest said.

The neighbors on the street spend most of the day to capture the pieces. Waiting for the crews to conclude their work, the apartment in the chaos left by the wind.

“I think he’s incredible. I think you will not believe, I think, or don’t expect it, I think, because it is usually calm- it’s a very quiet living,” said Brown.
