Ukraine denies Putin’s claim that Russian forces regained Kursk

The general corners of the Ukrainian armed forces denied the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday that the Russian forces had completely recovered the Kursk region, as Ukraine launched an attack last year.

In a statement after Putin issued the announcement, the Ukrainian army says that their work “in certain areas in the Kursk region continues.”

The statement issued by Ukraine says that the situation is “difficult”, but “our units continue to occupy certain positions.” The statement said that Putin’s announcement “is nothing more than a propaganda trick.”

Ukraine said it still has active forces in certain areas of the Bluewood region in Russia.

In a video statement on Saturday, Putin claimed that the Russian forces regained all the Russian region in northeastern Ukraine, where the Ukrainian forces launched an attack and managed to hold lands since the summer of 2024.

Putin congratulated the military individuals and said that the Ukraine attack was “completely failed.”

Moscow has been trying to get the Ukrainian forces out of Korsk since they seized a part of the border area in a bold attack in August, which was the first time that Kiev’s forces have seized large Russian soil since it began the full invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The Russian forces, supported by the North Korean forces, were slowly trying to restore the land in the region over the past few months.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump criticized the recent attacks by Russia in Ukraine, indicating the social media platform on Saturday that Putin may not want to stop the war in Ukraine.

“With everything that is said, there was no reason for Putin to shoot missiles in civilian areas, cities and towns, during the past few days,” Trump said.
