San Francisco (Kron) – California University staff is scheduled to strike on Thursday to protest the freezing of employment. The organizers said that 20,000 workers at the University of California will participate in a strike throughout the state.
The union, which represents the University of California, said that the strikes will take place in each campus center and the health center at the University of California, including the University of California in Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
The Union of Professional and Technicians at the University (UPTE) and the American Union of Government employees, provinces and municipalities (AFSCME) claim that the freezing of employment causes the employment crisis, affecting patients, research and students.

Niqaban represents 96,000 employees in the San Francisco Bay area.
UC office told the president that this is the fourth strike in six months. The office is scheduled to meet with UPTE on May 8 to continue negotiations.
The University of California said it made a final offer for AFSCME on Wednesday night, meeting the union’s demands worth $ 25 per hour and an increase of 5 percent.
UCSF said that regular operations will continue on Thursday. The effect on patients will be limited.
