“The anti -Semitism is widespread in the world. It is widespread in this nation, in society. I think our universities are reflections in our societies, especially a large public university,” said Rich Leon, the California University Adviser in Berkeley.
During the three-hour session, Counselor Lyon faced questions from the committee members, including MP Kevin Kelly, who asked about the reason for the spread of anti-Semitism in Berkeley.
Lyon acknowledged that although anti -Semitism is a wider societal issue, the University of California at Berkeley has taken steps to address it on the campus. “We have adopted new design initiatives. This is designed to reduce anti -Semitism by facing the height directly in hate,” Lyon said.
