President Donald Trump signed an executive order raising a tariff on steel and aluminum imports to 50 % on Tuesday afternoon.
A 50 % tariff applies to steel and aluminum at 12:01 am East time on Wednesday.

This aims to confront foreign low -price and aluminum steel, which the administration believes to undermine American manufacturers. It also aims to alleviate any possible threats to the national security posed.
“I decided that it is necessary to increase the tariff of the steel and aluminum pre -described to control the imports of steel and aluminum articles and its derivative articles so that these imports are not threatened with weak national security. Industries,” Trump wrote in order.
