Truck theft suspect arrested after allegedly fleeing, hiding in backyard of Arvada home

KDVR – A suspect truck thief was arrested on Monday, September 1, after the Urvada police said he had fled a stolen truck on foot before hiding under a tree in the backyard of a house in 8500 blocks from West 63.

Arvada Police Department He said On Saturday they used K-9 officers and drones to help create a perimeter and locate the suspect. The police said that he was then detained by K-9 officers near the fence line after obeying orders to arrest him.

The suspect, whose identity has not been determined, was transferred to prison and was charged with four charges related to the second -degree criminal assault, the charge of stealing third -class cars and the charge of obstructing a police officer, according to the police.

APD said that the alleged accident began after the officers patrolled near West 62 and Carr Street Street “canceled” by a member of the community who was reported to be stolen from their truck.

The alleged stolen car stopped after a short period of time, which stopped at the traffic light, according to the police, who said that the officers “gave a chase immediately” after the suspect claimed that the truck fled on foot.

Police said that the K-9 officers who eventually arrested the suspect were guiding with air support via drone pilots.
