Austin – Safety for students is a top priority as the largest school area in the region belongs to the semester on Tuesday morning.
It is likely that you have heard traffic safety messages to school several times in the past, but unfortunately, reminding and focus are still greatly necessary.
Last year in Texas, there were 748 accidents in the school areas, 2523 accidents that included school buses, and 11 of these deadly accidents. The Texas Ministry of Transport said the most common cause of these accidents is speed and dispersed driving.
With a lot of growth in the region and construction projects, your drive might look different this year. In southeast Austin, drivers will face a new school lighthouse and an infantry crossing as part of the safe city of Austin to school.
The safe methods of the school program are funded by the 2016 mobility bond and 2020 bonds.
Mobility bonds for the year 2016 included $ 27.5 million for the safe roads of the school, which will be divided evenly among all the ten provinces of the Austin City Council.
The Sanad 2020 includes an additional 20 million dollars for high -priority safe roads to school projects throughout the city.
The program brought new bicycle corridors, new sidewalks, safer street expressions, and ADA accessories to school areas throughout Austin.
