The tournament is set to take place from June 16 to June 22, 2025, at the Queen’s Club in London, United Kingdom. Tommy Paul Opens Up About Withdrawing From Queen’s Club Championships 2025
Paul recently took to social media to express his disappointment, stating that he is “crushed” to miss the opportunity to defend his title at the Queen’s Club Championships. The World No. 8 revealed that his withdrawal is due to an abdominal strain and that he needs to recover properly before returning to competitive play during the grass court swing.
“I’m crushed I will not to be able to play Queens next week. I sadly am still recovering from my abdominal strain and need some more time to get fully fit. I look forward to getting back on the grass soon. TP,” Paul wrote on his Instagram story.
Last year, Paul entered the Queen’s Club Championships as the fifth seed and defeated Sebastián Báez 6-4, 6-4, and Alejandro Tabilo 6-3, 6-4 in the first and second rounds, respectively, to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
In the last eight, the American triumphed over Jack Draper with a scoreline of 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, and then advanced to the final after registering a 6-4, 7-6(2) win against compatriot Sebastian Korda.
In the championship match, Paul faced Musetti and defeated him with a scoreline of 6-1, 7-6(8) to win the 2024 Queen’s Club Championships. This victory marked his third career ATP Tour title and his first on grass.
In the lead-up to the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships, Paul competed on the clay court swing of the season. He first participated in the 2025 U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships, where he made a run to the semifinals before being defeated by the eventual champion, Jenson Brooksby.
Following this, Paul competed at the Madrid Open, advancing to the fourth round before facing elimination at the hands of Jack Draper. Then, at the Italian Open, the World No. 8 reached the semifinals, only to be bested by the eventual runner-up, Jannik Sinner.
Paul most recently competed at the 2025 French Open. He was seeded 12th at the Grand Slam, and he defeated the likes of lucky loser Elmer Møller, Márton Fucsovics, 24th seed Karen Khachanov, and 25th seed Alexei Popyrin to secure his place in the quarterfinals. There, his run ended when he faced the eventual champion, Carlos Alcaraz.
