Last year, it was the largest group of applicants in the history of the University of California in Berkeley.
“In Berkeley, we seek to find the most exceptional students wherever they are in the state, country or world, and it is especially useful when we can submit admission to more of these amazing students,” said Olofimi Ugundi, deputy adviser to Berkeley, said in a statement.
In comparison, the acceptance rate of the University of California in Los Angeles is slightly lower at 9 %. According to admission figures issued by the University of California, 145,058 was applied to be part of the Fall 2025 Freshman category, and 13660 was accepted.
