‘This is his memorial’: Family responds to repeated vandalism at skatepark honoring late son

Buda, Texas (KXAN) – There is still one of the Poda teenager who died almost 14 years ago, is exposed to widespread sabotage, according to the city and teenager.

The city said that people have been distorted from time to time, Jackson Tyler Norris Mcally Skome Park since its inception in 2014, but sabotage has “escalated” in recent months. To make necessary reforms, the city was forced to close the park for several weeks, which led to frustration with some in society.

“[Vandals] “They separated from some ponds, they broke the toilets,” said Michel Henley, a spokeswoman for the city of Buda.

“We did not want to close it either,” Henley continued. “I do not think that society understands the amount of damage to it and the process that we have to go through [to fix it]”

Umm Jackson, Rebecca, told KXan that the city’s employees were affected by their story and decided to build a skiing garden, something that Boda lacks at that time, in his honor.

“It was completely overwhelming,” Rebecca said. “Everything happened very quickly, but touching, honoring and beautiful,” said Rebecca.

The park became an important place for the family to remember her son. Rebecca and her husband, Anthony, said his wounds were buried under the stone bricks under a balcony in the garden.

But often, they were unable to visit the park due to the closure of sabotage.

“It is a special place for the family, but it is a special place for the city of Buda and the skiers who come here and enjoy this spot,” said Rebecca. “I will not walk in a cemetery with heavy hammer and shattering contestants. So why is it okay to come here and destroy [the park]? “

The city of Buda said it is installing the cameras to deter sabotage.

“It is painful when it is closed to sabotage without meaning,” she said. “This is a memorial to him.”
