Georgetown, Texas (KXAN) – where they return to teachers and employees to the university campus for another school year in the independent Georgetown School area, they will do this, knowing that more money will be in their salaries.
Ten days before the first day of the school, the school’s board of directors agreed to an increase for all employees.
Teachers who have five or more experiences get $ 5,000, while those who have three to four years get $ 2,500. Those who were with the region for 1-2 years get an increase of $ 1,000, while the first year teachers will witness a starting salary from $ 56500 to $ 57,000.
All other boycott employees will get 2 % increase in the mid -salary point.
The third year supervisor, Dr. Devin Badaville, said that these increases help the region to start the academic year at the highest levels of employment since it started.
Padavil spoke with KXan about increases, the new laws approved by the state legislative body, and the “C” classification of the province from the Texas Education Agency.
This interview was lightly released for clarity and brevity.
Tom Miller: In the latest case accountability, Georget Town got the “C” classification. How does that sit with you? What do you do to improve that?
Padavil: Do not sit with me, because we have talented children. We have amazing teachers in Georgetown. I have never worked somewhere where I saw people carefully interested and who are committed to seeing students succeeding. But we know the translation between the great instructions in the semester, and the great performance in the end of the year, there is a little gap. Therefore, we have to bridge this gap through difficult tasks, respond to data in a timely manner, and ensure that our employees get reactions to transfer students to where they need. I want the state’s classifications of the amazing individuals working in our classroom every day.
MillerIn the past, she told me that there was not enough money coming from the state. This year is different, with the spread of $ 8.5 billion in all regions. What will Georget Town do with this additional money?
PadavilOur council takes the measures to make an increase in compensation for each employee in Georgetown. So that we can make sure to keep up with the cost of living in Georgetown and central Texas, and at the same time, we know that the cost of living continues to increase. Everything is from securing your car to the grocery bill. So we know that doing knowing how to find more money to increase employee compensation will continue.
Miller: One of the new laws coming from the state’s legislative body related to mobile phones and keeping them outside the campus. How will you implement that? Where do you personally stand on that?
PadavilI think the devices distract our youth in the semester. We offer the Chromebook, a laptop or iPad for every Georgetown ISD, so the need to use your cell phone is very small, but we know what cell phones are to seduce. At the same time, I hate this additional responsibility for our teachers, so our managers are working with employees to ensure narrow expectations about ensuring that students do not use devices in the semester. Parents can help us through, if your son has a device, setting time boundaries on the screen, closing them during the school day, or telling your child only to keep his devices at home.
MillerAnother law related to the ten wills and requires them in the classroom. Is this something we will see on the first day of school?
Padavil: We are currently working through this interpretation to ensure the follow -up of the law. At the same time, there is a little difference in opinion, do we rely on donations first, or do we produce them collectively, which we do not have funding. We will comply with the law to ensure that the ten wills, and I think the exact dimensions should be 16 inches in 20 inches, in each semester in time.
MillerWhen you start another academic year, what are your priorities until 2025?
Padavil: The first reason for the presence of schools is to learn students, growth and progress. So our first priority is, how we can put the level of the academic challenge so that the results of students continue, and students learn, and what students enjoy evidence that they can do in school, in the increase. My vision as a supervisor is that every child crosses the theater when graduating has confidence in life after high school. You get this confidence by doing difficult things in high school, middle school and primary school.
Miller: What are you excited about Georget Town?
PadavilWe opened a job and technical education center that we call the Future Complex ready. In this building, we expand functional and technical education programs. These programs can help the student go to college and continue a four -year degree, or they can go directly to the workforce and earn a good living. We want to offer both tracks to children, and one of the most enthusiastic tracks is the manufacturing path. The manufacturing sector in central Texas will quickly expand. It is a great job opportunity for children as they pass through school. It is an incredible opportunity for families and their children.
