Texas' largest ever display of National AIDS Memorial Quilt goes up in Austin ahead of Pride

Austin – Austin is now a temporary home to the largest community arts project in the world.

A piece of patriotHelps the Memorial quilt It is now shown at the fourth floor exhibition in the first Baptist Church in Austin, located in 901 Trinity Street. It is the biggest quilt show in the history of Texas.

Austin 34 blocks features more than 270 lost lives in front of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. A full quilt is a texture of 54 tons that includes approximately 50,000 panels dedicated to more than 110,000 individuals, according to Website.

The quilt will be shown on Saturday, August 16, until Sunday, August 24. There will also be film nights, as well as a memory and hope service on the last day of the show.
