At the meeting of the Senate Committee on Tuesday, legislators showed support from the two parties for legislation that would increase penalties for school leaders who failed to report suspected sexual assault and a draft law raised by the KXAN investigation, which will increase the authority of the Texas Education Agency in investigating accused school contractors.

During the plenary session, where many witnesses detailed their personal experiences with sexual misconduct on the campus, Senator Paul Betinkurt, R-Houston, said that he intends to provide a newer version of the Senate Law 571, which aims to increase the number of employee tea tea can achieve in panic, including contractors and non-accredited employees.
