Taylor Fritz’s Shirt-Lift Moment Shocks Himself

A picture shared from a practice session for the Australian Open showed the 6-foot-5 Fritz lifting his shirt to reveal his upper body. The photo quickly spread online, and Fritz couldn’t help but react. Posting on X, he joked, “Yooo wtf I look HUGE 😂😂😂.”

Fritz has often connected with fans online with his lighthearted reactions to unexpected or awkward moments during tournaments, which has helped make him one of the more relatable players on tour.

However, on the court, the American maintains a calm demeanor and prefers not to overreact to situations. Off court, moments like this show a different side of him.

Fritz’s Lingering Fitness Issue May Affect His Australian Open Run

On a serious note regarding his fitness, Fritz’s 2026 season hasn’t started the way he would have liked. He has been dealing with a knee injury, and it has somewhat affected his performance. He won his initial match at the United Cup but lost the second in the group stage.

And because the American was unable to defend many of the ranking points that he earned last season, he will now enter the Australian Open as the ninth seed, which could make his path much tougher. The top eight seeds are protected from facing each other until the quarterfinals in Grand Slams, and Fritz just misses out on that advantage.

Fritz is expected to face one of the fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth seeds as early as the fourth round, and his head-to-head record against many of them doesn’t look that promising.

Moreover, he has also admitted he may not be fully fit for Melbourne. After losing to Sebastian Baez at the United Cup, he revealed that his knee problem stopped him from pushing himself too hard on court.

“I spent the ‍majority, pretty much the entirety of the ‌off-season, trying to rehab my knee tendinopathy, but that’s a thing that takes months and months to get better. I didn’t get to play a lot of points because I’m trying to not push it too hard,” Fritz said.

He also admitted that if things don’t improve in the coming months, he may have no choice but to stop completely and focus on fixing the issue. For now, the American plans to carefully increase his time on court.
