Suspect arrested in Greeley park shooting that left teen dead

KDVR-Police arrested the suspect with the deadly fire at Centennial Park, which led to the death of a 18-year-old child.

Grilli Police Administration said on Friday that Logan Diwani McDawell, 18, was arrested and charged with murder and theft in the aftermath of the shooting on August 14.

In August, the officers responded to fire at about 8 pm at Centennial Park in the 2200 Avenue Bloc.

Grilli said when the officers arrived at the scene, and they were in Damian Montoya, 18, with at least one wound.

Monoya was transferred to the hospital, where he announced his death in the end, according to the police.

The administration previously said that the witnesses saw a battle between people in two cars, a red truck and a gray sedan before the shooting. The alleged suspect escaped from the scene in a vehicle.
