A man from San Bernardino Province was arrested by stealing a car from a Facebook market.
The victim published her Toyota Salse 2015 for sale and was contacted by the suspect, Joseph Gomez, 26, from Victorville.
The authorities said that Gomez inquired about the car and plans to meet the woman on May 13 at a residence in the 16000 mass of Lariat Road to inspect the car.
During the inspection, Gomez rose to the car and went away with the car. The victim contacted the law enforcement, who started the investigation. At 1:42 pm, the MPs monitored the stolen car near Roy Rogers Drive and 15 quickly.
“The deputies made a significant stop from traffic and contacted the driver,” the Sharif administration said.
Gomez was arrested for stealing the car and possessing a stolen vehicle. He was booked at the Adelanto High Desert Retention Center.
The authorities said in a public place and during the daytime hours: “The Victorville Police Administration would like to remind the public to be safe when making purchases or personal sales through the online markets. Avoid carrying large sums of money with you and making someone familiar with your meeting plans.”
