Smoke used to disperse ICE protesters on Colfax

Denver (KDVR) – Denver Police Department has published officers with riots and smoke controls to disperse a group of ice demonstrators on Saturday evening.

The crowd gathered at Colorado State Capitol before heading towards Colfax Street.

The police closed West Colfax Street in both directions Between the highway 25 and North Osidge Street due to the demonstrators in the area.

Nate Belt of Fox31 was at the scene and said that the police used officers with riots and smoke thunderbolts to direct the group to the area where they started near the Capitol.

It was not long later, Colfax was reopened, and the police were removing smoke cans from the road.

The group was not affiliated with the “not kings” who attended the gathering in the Capitol earlier today on Saturday. The protest has ended “no king” around 4 pm

DPD said in a statement to Fox31 that this group was the sixth march that was followed during the day of the protests. The demonstrators were heading towards Osidge and I-25 Street, as the officers met them and told them that they would not be able to reach the highway.

The officers used the loudspeakers before the demonstrators tried to pay the police line. Pepper and smoke balls were used to disperse the crowd.

The administration said that there are multiple reports that the demonstrators throw bottles and rocks on the officers, as well as reports on writing on the walls.

As of 8:15 pm, five people were arrested, and no demonstrators remain in the area.
