Bouchard retired from professional tennis in July 2025 at the age of 31, after falling to Belinda Bencic in the second round of the National Bank Open in Montreal. The defining season of her career came in 2014, when she reached the Wimbledon final and advanced to the semifinals of both the French Open and the Australian Open. That remarkable run propelled her to a career-high singles ranking of World No. 5, making her the first Canadian to break into the top five. The Canadian retired with a 300-230 win-loss record.

Stephens’ appearances on tour were restricted this season due to a lingering foot injury. She began her year with a first-round finish at the ASB Classic in Auckland, followed by a similar result at Hobart International, before bowing out in the opening round of the Australian Open.

The injury surfaced during her first-round defeat to Petra Martić in Akron and kept the American sidelined for a prolonged period. Her return came in Guadalajara, where another first-round exit marked her latest main-tour outing. The American is yet to make her return and ended the season with a 2-3 win-loss record.
