Simon Guobadia Sues Porsha Williams for $500K, Claims Her Instagram Posts Ruined His Reputation!
Simon Guobadia is taking legal action against his ex-wife, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, following their highly publicized 2024 split. In newly filed federal court documents, the 61-year-old entrepreneur is suing Porsha for defamation and seeking at least $500,000 in damages.
According to the lawsuit, Simon alleges that Porsha Williams used her social media platform to make “negative, false and misleading statements” that directly harmed his business reputation, personal image, and mental health. He also claims the posts led to the loss of sponsorships and business opportunities.
In the documents, Simon Guobadia specifically cites Porsha’s Instagram posts that appeared shortly after their separation. He alleges that while she didn’t mention him by name, the timing, tone, and context of her comments implied that he suffers from erectile dysfunction.
“These posts were intentionally crafted to imply that [Guobadia] suffers from this condition, casting him in a negative and humiliating light,” his attorney stated. “The nature, timing, and context of these posts, amidst the couple’s public separation, led reasonable viewers to infer that [Williams’] statements were referring to [Guobadia] — because they were.”
Guobadia claims the posts caused “emotional distress,” “humiliation,” and substantial damage to his public image. His legal team argues that Porsha’s large online following amplified the impact of the alleged defamation.
To support his claims, Simon intends to submit medical documentation disproving any implications made about his health. His attorney argues that the comments were not only reckless but maliciously designed to harm him amid their very public breakup.
The businessman insists that Williams‘ actions went beyond personal frustration, calling her behavior “malicious conduct” deserving of additional damages beyond the $500,000 request. Porsha Williams is pushing back on the claims. In response filings, her legal team denies that the posts meet the legal definition of defamation. They argue that none of Porsha’s posts mention Simon Guobadia directly.
“None of [Williams’] posts refer to any particular individual, let alone [Guobadia] specifically,” her attorney noted in court. The defense also highlighted that some of the Instagram content included hashtags like “#MensHealthAwareness,” claiming the posts were meant to provide general information rather than target anyone.
As the case heads into the next phase, both sides appear prepared for a drawn-out legal fight.
Simon is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, while Porsha maintains that she did nothing wrong. The federal defamation case is ongoing, and neither Porsha nor Simon has issued a public statement outside of their court filings.
