San Francisco (Crohn– San Francisco leaders and the Chinese neighborhood are calling for the Trump administration in the definitions that they say hurt companies and the local economy.
In the Chinese district of San Francisco, local leaders warn that the trade war with China will have traces of ripples here in the city.
“He is punishing our local actions,” said Matt Hani, a member of San Francisco.
San Francisco has the largest Chinese district outside Asia and is the oldest in North America.
“Many merchants raise their prices from 30 to 40 percent, and some prices rose to 100 percent,” said Donald Low, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce at SF.
Magan Lee, the owner of Lion Trading, says it is not just a tourist destination, but rather the lifeblood of the local Chinese community that relies on food, medicine, clothes and special products imported from China.
“It is not only the financial aspect of things, it is also the cultural aspect.” “I, as a community, are at risk of losing tradition. I hope that the government will work on something and help small companies, like us, to continue to prosper.”
Without government support, these restrictions make it difficult to stay on his feet.
“During the epidemic, we have grants, we have a kind of financing to help us, at the present time we have no grant or any funding, our business (harms) is harmed,” said Edward Seo of the United Traders Association.
Seo said that the companies he represented can reach more difficult than they were during the Covid-19 pandemic because the government did not provide subsidies.
Business owners say whether the definitions are continuing, they will be forced to choose local alternatives, but many elements come only from abroad.
