Even legends get called out by their kids, just ask Serena Williams.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion and all-around icon recently shared a hilarious real mom moment on Instagram featuring her seven-year-old daughter Olympia. And let’s just say, Olympia is not afraid to speak her truth.
In the clip, posted on July 1, Serena rocks a summer-ready, ab-baring outfit, totally cute, totally casual, and definitely fashionista approved. But Olympia? She was not having it. Like a little fashion police officer, she swoops in to fix her mom’s top like she’s been handling press tours since preschool.
Serena, clearly tickled by the moment, captioned the post: “@OlympiaOhanian always keeping me in check! Someone please let her know it’s summer?” She even added the ultimate mom eye-roll emoji to seal the deal. We felt that.
And the internet court of opinion definitely weighed-in and they had thoughts.
One fan dropped a simple but fitting, “Well dang,” while others fully backed Serena with comments like, “Sorry Olympia but mama is a hot gal,” and “That hand said aht aht!” Another added, “She was so serious,” because yes, Olympia looked like she meant business.
Let’s not forget, Serena and husband Alexis Ohanian, whom she married back in 2017, are raising two amazing little girls: Olympia and her baby sister Adira, who’s turning two this August. So Serena’s got mom duties and queen-of-the-court energy on lock.
What’s even cuter? This isn’t the first time Olympia’s shown us she’s got a big personality and a strong point of view. She’s basically her mama’s mini-me just with a little more added fashion police.
One thing’s for sure, between championship trophies and school drop-offs, Serena Williams is being humbled in the most adorable way possible and we’re living for every moment of it.
