The Senate rejected the competing measures on Friday to finance federal agencies for a few weeks when the new budget year begins on October 1, which increases the possibility of the partial government closing on that date.
The leaders of the two parties sought to blame the other side in the confrontation. The Democrats accused the Republicans of not negotiating with them to address some of their health care priorities as part of the financing management, although they know that some democratic voices will be necessary to obtain a bill to the president’s office.
The Republicans said that the Democrats were demanding a significant increase in spending and were not close in the main issue of keeping agencies to run completely for a short period of time, while negotiations continued to conduct full spending throughout the year.
“The Republican draft law is a clean, non -partisan and continuous decision in the short term to fund the government to give us time to carry out the full credits. The democratic bill is the exact opposite,” said Senate Commander John Thun, “This is what you may call, not clean CR, and a dirty CR – carries partisan policies and appeals to the Left Democrats base.”

The democratic proposal will extend the improved health insurance subsidies that are scheduled to end at the end of the year, in addition to the reverse reductions that were included in the major tax exemptions of Republicans and reduce discounts that were aged earlier this year.
“The American people will look at what the Republicans are doing, look at what Democrats do, and it will be clear that the general feelings will be next to us,” said Democratic leader Chuck Schumer from New York, who has repeatedly threatened to stop health care.
The Senate’s procedure came after the House of Representatives passed earlier today the draft financing law led by Republicans. This measure will generally extend government financing at the current levels for seven weeks. The draft law will also add about $ 88 million in security financing for legislators, members of the Supreme Court and Executive Authority in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kerk.
The vote was 217-212. Representative Jared Golden was one of the only democratic member to support the bill.
Parliament Speaker Mike Johnson from Louisiana said he knows that he had received a few votes to avoid him as he sought to persuade his Republican colleagues to vote in favor of the financing correction, which many oppose his conference routinely in the previous budget battles. But this time, the Republican Party members see an opportunity to photograph the Democrats as being responsible for the closure.

Johnson said: “The ball is in the Chuck Schumer court. I hope he will do the right thing.
President Donald Trump urged Republicans in the House of Representatives to pass the bill and put the burden on Democrats to oppose it. Republican Party leaders often need Trump to beat the objector to the legislation.
“Every republic in the House of Representatives must unite, and vote yes!” Trump said on his social media site.
Democratic leader Hakim Jeffrez, dn.y. said. In opposition to the ongoing decision, Democrats were working to protect health care of the American people. He said that with the control of the Republicans in the White House and both the Congress branch, “The Republicans will have a government closure.
The Senate moved quickly after the House of Representatives voted to take over this procedure in addition to the democratic meter. Both were less than 60 votes required to pass. Now, it is not clear how things will fade.
Senate members can leave the city until September 29 – one day before the deadline for closing. The Senate has a scheduled rest next week due to Roche Hashna, the new Jewish year. Meanwhile, Johnson said that the Republicans were discussing whether they would stay in their original areas during the rest of September, which forced the Senate mainly to agree to the advanced management in the House of Representatives or risk to close it. He said that legislators have a lot of work to do in their areas.
Democrats on both sides of the Capitol Schumer are closely watched after his decision at the last minute in March to vote with Republicans to keep the government open. Schumer argued at the time that the closure would be harmful and will give Trump and the White House freedom to make more government discounts. Many revolted on the left, with some defenders calling for his resignation.
Spring voting also caused a temporary division with JeffRies, who opposed this specified Republican Party spending bill and said it would not be “complicit” with Shomer’s vote.
Democratic leaders now say they are united, and Schumer says things have changed since March. Shomer says that the audience is more careful than Trump and the Republicans, after Midikid’s discounts have passed.
Most Democrats seem to support Schumer’s demand that there be negotiations on the draft law – and they support his threats to close, so that it is not clear how they will get it out of it.
Senator Tami Baldwin, D-Ois, said: “See, the president really boldly said, do not even speak with the Democrats. What does not forget that you need a superpower to pass a budget in the Senate, it is clear that his signals want to close.”
While the democratic procedure for government financing had no opportunity to pass, it gives Democrats a way to show voters their focus on reducing health care costs. Unless the Congress Law, the tax credits that go to people with low and medium -income people who buy health insurance through the law of care at reasonable prices will end. This means a significant increase in the premiums of millions of Americans.
“There is something that we must deal with. Health insurance, ACA will put millions of people in the country, including the red states,” said Senator Angus King, ” “For me, it cannot be postponed.”
Republicans said that the tax credit case later could be dealt with this year. They are also using the previous Shomer arguments against closure to clarify the issue he plays in politics.
“The Democrats voted for clean CRS, which is at least 13 times during the Biden administration,” said Thun. “However, after the Republicans CR came clean, it is somehow unlimited. It is funny how it happens.”
