Second measles case confirmed in unvaccinated adult in Williamson County

Williamson, Texas (KXAN) – A second case of measles was confirmed in Williamson Province on Tuesday.

Wcchd, Williamson Province, WCCHD, said in a press statement that the case included one of the unpleasant adults from Lrender, Williamson, and WCCHD province in a press statement.

According to the officials, the individual was no longer in their infectious period and was not present in the Williamson district region while they were physicians.

The statement added that Wcchd, the Ministry of Health in Texas, along with the local health authorities, said it would notify individuals who may have been exposed directly.

“Vaccination is one of the most powerful tools that we have to prevent the spread of measles and protect our society,” said Dr. Amanda Norwood, Medical Director at Wcchd. “Two doses of MMR vaccine provide safe, strong and long -term protection,” Norwood added.

On May 22, KXAN reported that the first measles case in Williamson was a school age of Lender. The independent Liberty Hill province sent to schools a message to parents to inform them that the case included “a school age who enrolled in the Baro School.”

More than 720 cases have been confirmed, with cases in the eruption area in West Texas since late January.
