The earthquake had a preliminary size of 5.2 and was near the mountainous town of Julian, east of San Diego, according to the American geological survey. As of 10:30 am, at least eight thin tremors were reported.
The San Diego Sharif Provincial Administration said it had not received any immediate reports on damage or injuries.
“There is nothing about what we see at this stage is surprising,” said Dr. Lucy Jones, the earthquake. “There should be no structural damage. If there is, it is in a very bad building. There will be things that the shelves have displaced.”
The earthquake focuses about 2.5 miles south of Julian, a picturesque town famous for apple and bakeries spaces. No damage or injuries were reported immediately.
