San Bernardino County teacher arrested for alleged sex abuse of a minor

A teacher of San Bernardino Province was arrested due to the alleged sexual assault of a minor.

The suspect has been identified as Elvin Vero, 52, by the Ridlands Unified School area. Vero was a special academic teacher at Citrus Valley High School in Ridlands.

Provincial officials said that Viraor was initially working as a professional from 2013 to 2022 before moving to an educational role from 2022 to 2023. Work began in the citrus valley in the academic year 2023-2024.

The Riverbird Police began the investigation after a minor reported that he had been sexually abused. On May 13, after the investigation, Vero was located by the officers and were detained in relation to the case.

After learning the arrest, provincial officials said that Vero was placed on an administrative leave awaiting more investigation.

“Our maximum priority is, and it will remain so, the safety and welfare of our students,” said the supervisor Juan Kabral. “Every employee must pass a series of background examination, including the Ministry of Justice examination, before starting working with our students.”

Details surrounding the case were not released, including VEREAU connection to alleged victims. The authorities did not provide a picture of the reservation.

“We appreciate the rapid action taken by the RiverSid Police Department, and we need to ensure that any student may be affected by the support and services they need.”
