San Antonio, Texas (Nexstar) – is not a largely independent Lublind School area, the largest school area in Texas, but it is unique. It is located within the Lackland Air Force base in West San Antonio serves nearly 1,000 students connected to the military.
Due to its location, the school cannot collect any taxes on local property, which means that half of its budget comes from AdFACT AIDE – a federal educational scholarship program that pays educational areas from any revenue loss due to unintegrated federal property, including Indian reservations.
The influence assistant is addressed by a department within the Ministry of Education. Last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to effectively dismantle the agency and described it as a failed experience.
Dr. Burni Robert, Lackland ISD, closely monitors the situation. Since his region depends heavily on influence aides, any kind of delaying payment may be difficult for him and his employees.
“It is important for money to reach here in a timely manner,” Robert explained.
The Ministry of Education announced earlier this month that it cut off its employees to half. These cuts affect each section within the department and will require some divisions “a large reorganization”, as stated in the statement. Robe said he was concerned that employment discounts and the lack of plan at the federal level for the agency’s future may delay payment.
“If we do not get it, we may have to close our doors,” Robert explained.
The National Association of Schools affected by the Federalism (NAFIS) issued a statement Earlier this month in response to the reduction of employment. He echoes the same concerns that Robert has about time payments. Supervisor of San Antonio is the head of the Nafis Texas department and defends the influence assistants in the capital

Robe said there are discussions at the federal level to move the departments currently within the Ministry of Education to other federal agencies. If it is supposed to transfer the department that deals with the assistant effect, then he hopes to move to the Treasury, not the Ministry of Defense. “We do not want to swallow our program with the Ministry of Defense,” he explained.
It has been at the head of the province since 2009 and has witnessed the delays of payment in the past. Robert remembers one year, and Robert, the majority of the school year, passed before a batch of the federal government in April.

“This depends on how everything flows in Washington,” said Robe. If Congress is in a battle to pass the credit bill, this means that half of its financing is at stake. When Congress passes continuous decisions to avoid government closure, his area only gets part of its assistant financing.
Because of the unconfirmed nature at the federal level, Robert said that his area sometimes has to take advantage of the balance of the health fund, which is the savings account in the province, so that they can push teachers, feed students and maintain buildings. The state law imposes that the province remains three months of operating expenditures in the balance.
Robert also indicates that he will strike on both sides, saying that the state does not fund educational areas at the level it should be. Texas lawmakers are now discussing school financing courses.
“I think it is important to be [lawmakers] “Understanding the educational areas is now really suffering,” said Robbie.
Although his region is not like some of the largest areas in Texas, Robert said that his schools play an important role for women and men stationed at the Baland Air Force Base.
“When our parents publish and leave their children here, it is important to know that we take care of their children so that they can focus on the task they were sent to do,” he said.
“A lot of uncertainty”
The President said that the Ministry of Education will continue to push federal scholarship programs such as Aide Aide, clubs 1, and the idea, but it will have to do this with half of the employees who previously said.
Margaret Hings, former Minister of Education as part of the George W. Bush administration and the CEO now asks the party policy center, if the employees are largely reduced to continue the agency’s work.
She said that the largest job in the Ministry of Education is the financial assistant for higher education, with a secondary role, but it is important in dealing with investments in programs such as address 1 and idea, which helps in private education and poor students. But the agency is also for civil rights issues.
Unfortunately, the spelling explained that Backstop is needed because hundreds of cases make their way to the agency every year. The spelling said that the Americans have an interest in ensuring that the field of playing in education is a level, and gives every child, regardless of their geographical location or family income, and the same opportunities in good education. But she is concerned about the direction of the Ministry of Education is to get rid of the tools needed to ensure that these federal programs are properly investing.
“I am concerned that we are both to serve as a taxpayer-and more importantly-from the students will have service,” said Hyersinstegs.
But as we enter this time of uncertainty, the hybrids are concerned that she is distracted from the need to improve education.
“This makes me wonder if we are behaving ourselves about our amazing need to focus on reading, mathematics and early rows – and of course the ability to afford costs and quality of higher education.”
An interesting development said that she will keep her eyes to move to the future is if address 1 money is used to increase funding for the government school selection program. Choosing the school is one of the largest, if not the largest, which is discussed by the legislators in Texas in this session.
There are currently proposals on the table of legislators who create an educational savings account program (ESA). The European Space Agency for the General dollar will provide families that can be used to pay tuition fees in private schools. Both suggestions in the Capitol will take the program with a billion dollars of the state budget surplus.
Address 1 money currently cannot be used for this purpose, but Congress can enact legislation that can open these funds for use in the school selection program.
The state deputy, Gina Hinojosa, D -Austin, presented two draft laws in this session, which requires the Texas Education Agency to send federal educational scholarships directly to the educational areas. Each of these bills has been presented directly on the deadline of the draft law and has not been referred to a committee yet.
“We are for efficiency, but we need these dollars to go to the class and students they deserve,” Hinoogusa said at a press conference.
