The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is in full swing, literally.
And there’s plenty to talk about. Between robot umpires, massive home runs, and mic’d-up pitchers, this year’s All-Star Game truly does have it all. As the game unfolds, the National League has quickly taken a dominant, shutout lead with a 6-0 score by the top of the seventh; the NL also scored a whopping four runs in the sixth inning, with the American League answering with four of their own in the top of the seventh.
Let’s take a look at how league fans are reacting to the Midsummer Classic so far.
How Are Fans Reacting to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game?
2025 marks the 95th MLB All-Star Game, with the first taking place in 1933. Since its conception, the game has developed into a fan favorite.
“It’s crazy how much better the MLB All Star game is than every other sport,” one fan said on X.

One of the main storylines of Tuesday’s All-Star Game is the debut of the automated ball-strike system (ABS). It gives each team two challenges, which they can retain if they are successful. Challenges can only be initiated by a pitcher, catcher, or batter.
With one out in the bottom of the first, Cal Raleigh challenged an 0-2 pitch to Manny Machado, an 89.5 mph changeup from American League starter Tarik Skubal that was called a ball.
According to MLB.com and as seen on the broadcast, Raleigh tapped on his helmet just seconds before Skubal did the same, all while they were both mic’d up for the FOX broadcast.
The call was then eventually overturned, and Machado was sent back to the dugout as a result of the call being changed to the third strike.

A lot of fans are loving the concept of a robot umpire.
“Can’t wait until this is a permanent thing,” one fan said.

However, not all fans are in favor of the ABS system.
“The announcers telling the catcher to challenge that is INSANE,” said another fan.
“Introducing ABS full-time might reduce disputes but could impact the game’s traditional rhythm,” another pointed out.

The All-Star Game also, as expected, features its fair share of home runs. This includes both Pete Alonso and Brent Rooker, each hitting three-run blasts and showing the world why it’s fun to watch the best-of-the-best in terms of America’s pastime.
“WE LOVE HOME RUNS,” Budweiser’s social account said.
