Ricky Hatton, former world boxing champion, dies at 46

Manchester, England – Ricky Hatton, a former world champion of boxing who rose to become one of the most popular fighters in this sport. It was 46.

Haton was found dead in his home in Greater Manchester.

Police said they did not deal with death as suspicious.

“The officers were called by a member of the public to attend the Bowlacre, Hyde, Tameside, 6:45 am today, when they found the body of a 46 -year -old man,” the Greater Manchester Police said in a statement. “It is not currently believed that there are any suspicious circumstances.”

Haton’s friends hurried to honor Sunday morning.

“Today, we lost not only one of the greatest boxers in Britain, but a friend, a guide, a warrior, Ricky Hatton,” former world champion, Amir Khan, on X.

Hatton’s death comes two months after a surprise was announced that he would return to boxing in December in a professional attack against Iza Al Dah in Dubai.

Since his loss for the third time in his career, he did not fight against Vyacheslav Sencinko in 2012.

Haton won international titles in light weight and weight, and at the height of his career, he participated with the best boxers in his generation including Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
