Richmond officer who shot U.S. Marine was already under investigation by DOJ

Richmond, California (Crohn) – A Richmond police officer participated in a firing shooting this year, according to officials. On August 4, officials said that the officer Nicholas Remik and the second RPD officer shot the US Marine Corps, the 27 -year -old Montano, at his family’s home in Verstert.

On February 4, Remik and the second officer shot Jose de Jesus Mandez Rios in Richmond, according to the California Ministry of Justice database. Their use of the deadly force of the RIOS case is still under investigation by government officials.

The officers were initially sent on August 4 to the home of the first street because the naval infantry brother called the number 911.

“He has mental issues. He is in the living room now. The door is open, tell him to leave, not leave,” Montano’s brother Seller 911 said.

The sender asked, “Did anyone get a knife?”

The brother replied, “Not yet, but he will do.” Montano was previously treated for mental health at John Muyer Hospital, but hospital staff did not provide a family diagnosis. “He has the madness of greatness,” the brother added.

Montano’s voice can be heard in the background of a 911 call, while Montano’s mother stood between her two sons to keep them separate. The brother confirmed to the sender that Montano was a veterans.

The messenger brother told Montano was not logical, and “he does this all the time.”

Seven minutes after the 911 call, Montano became skeptical from the sender 911 and demanded to know its name. She refused the sender because she is a civilian, and not an officer.

“Place the knife, please, the angel”, appealed to the brother. Then Montano picked up a second knife.

Six police officers were standing outside the home, including some drawn weapons. The Richmond Police Administration said that the messengers remained on the phone with the brother and presented updates to the officers when they stayed abroad.

Officers abroad can hear a “high quarrel” that occurs inside the house. “The officers, for fear that someone inside the housing will be harmed, is to reside,” RPD wrote. Within seconds of the officers who announced their presence in the front door, Montano appeared and “advanced quickly in the officers, carrying knives”, as RPD wrote.

After the navy ignored the orders of stopping, the officers stored and released Remik firing their service weapons, injuring the suspect of domestic violence, according to the police.

Immediately after the shooting, the naval mother can be heard in a 911 call that cries with shock and dismay.

While the scene was banned with the yellow crime tape, the people who knew Montano were very emotional. One man in the police shouted, “Look at that! Angel Montano, veteran marine.” Another man shouted at the officers, “I have killed your own.”

“This is not the result we want. We will have a peaceful result. Their belief at the time was that there was an immediate need for them to enter,” RPD Patchin told reporters.

The Police Department has set a storage and preparation for an administrative vacation for each RPD policy. This is the second time that Remik has been placed on vacation by the Richmond Police Department for a deadly shooting this year.

Rayos was wanted on February 4 due to the violation of monitoring on the charge of domestic violence. According to RPD, RIOS was in a 32 -minute confrontation with officers and ignored their orders by Union Pacific Railroad near Carlson and RGATTA BOULEVARDS. After the officers tried to cancel the position and reach a peaceful solution, 51 -year -old Rios was shot by Remik and officer Jessica Khalil, According to the Ministry of Justice database.

The California Ministry of Justice said it was required to investigate all incidents of “shooting officers”, which led to an unarmed civilian death.

“The officers were responding to a violent and armed threat inside a house. We welcome the launch of the camera shots worn by the body today, which appears to officers who face an armed individual threatening the lives of family members inside a house and acts under a clear threat to public safety.”

RPOA has criticized many media stories in the Bay Area area on Remick for “Hit-PITE SENSANSATIONISM”, and “giving priority to previous titles on facts.”

The Police Officers Federation continued, “We urge the public and the media to review the entire footage before rushing the ruling. Today’s footage reminds us that the police often require uncompromising courage in light of the threat-not too late.
