Friedrichburg, Texas (KXAN) – The teams were fighting a fire in the West directly from Frederkesburg in Gilsby Province on Tuesday, called by officials in the name of reverse fire.
The affected area is estimated at 75 acres and 45 % is located from Tuesday night, according to a press statement.
The fire broke out at about 2:45 pm near the 400 mass of East Grand Oaks Drive. It was generally moved east and north and is located in front of the 290 American Highway and the RH-WEINHEIMER road.
Fredericksburg Fire/EMS section, in conjunction with the volunteer fire departments in Gillespie Province, the crews from all over the region and the TEXAS A&M forest service continue to fight fire.
“Thanks to the rapid coordination and response to our crew, we were able to obtain containment in this fire,” Lynn Bizel, President of Frederkesburg, told Lin Bezel. Bezel said that rice trees and many piles of dead vegetation across the region continued to ignite embers and throw embers to start new spot fires.
“Our team will continue to work throughout the night to ensure that there are no glows,” Bizel said.
Officials said that there was no known road closure at this time, and the cause of the fire was not determined.
The city urged the audience to avoid the area as the crews continue to work. People in the area should listen to sets on the ground and the residents are encouraged to avoid activities that may ignite additional fires.
Gilisby’s province remains in exceptional dry conditions.
